Officials at Consol Energy are informing workers about a serious health concern after a miner died from an extremely rare disease.The miner worked at the Bailey Mine in Greene County, authorities said.Officials said the worker, whose name hasn’t been released, got sick on Monday with flu-like symptoms. The man died Tuesday from a form of meningitis, which is contracted through saliva transfer. State health officials are trying to determine how the man contracted the disease. Workers at the mine are being encouraged to seek medical attention if necessary.
